Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our core presentation training focuses on verbal and non-verbal communication (what you say and how you say it). This course focuses more on influence, and how to prepare for and engage in persuasive presentations and conversations. It’s actually a hybrid of our “Stand & Deliver” and “Presenting to Executives” courses.

  • It is highly effective for sales teams, but the skills apply to anyone who needs to influence people, whether internal or external. Many people find it’s usefulness goes way beyond their work lives, as we all try to influence people in our lives every day.

  • Clients can expect a tangible shift from "informing" to "persuading." Results include the ability to more quickly and consistently prepare, structure arguments more logically, handle tough questions and pushback without defensiveness, and drive clear action from an audience. Organizations typically see shorter sales cycles, more effective internal meetings, and higher adoption rates for new initiatives.

  • Yes. Participants bring their own actual situations to the workshop, allowing us to apply the persuasive techniques directly to the work they are doing right now. Many people prepare for real presentations and conversations in the course, allowing them to practice and receive extensive feedback.

  • Key techniques include "The Bottom Line Up Front" (BLUF) for clarity, leveraging the Executive Presentation Pyramid, specific frameworks for handling Q&A, and non-verbal skills like eye contact and vocal modulation to build trust and authority.

  • We teach influence by focusing on the audience's perspective, not just the speaker's content. We train participants to identify the decision-maker's needs, use storytelling to create emotional connection, and employ the "psychology of influence" to frame their ideas in a way that minimizes resistance and maximizes buy-in.

  • Participants leave with a "Persuasion Toolkit" they can use at work and at home. You’ll walk away with greater confidence in high-stakes situations, a proven method for organizing your thoughts quickly, and the ability to read a room and pivot your strategy in real-time to keep your audience engaged. Plus, each person leaves with a very clear picture of their strengths and opportunities as a presenter so they can continue to practice and improve long after the course.

  • To ensure every participant gets maximum practice, individual coaching and feedback, we cap these workshops at 10-12 participants, depending on the format.

  • We typically deliver this as a one-day intensive workshop or split it into two half-day virtual sessions.

“We recently hired GrahamComm to facilitate “The Persuasive Presenter.” Their team worked closely with us to design and customize the course for our particular industry and needs. We initially did a one-day pilot program to see how the training would resonate with our employees, who are very selective and pressed for time.

GrahamComm exceeded our expectations on every level. The evaluations from the program were so good and the demand for the course so strong, we brought them back to deliver the same course at multiple offices. The content, exercises and coaching help people inform and influence both internal and external audiences and prepare them for rigorous discussion and Q&A. The GrahamComm team was responsive, easy to work with and extremely professional. They were able to teach and empower our people from software engineers to client-facing professionals.”
